We are accepting applications and test scores for the position of Police Officer from March 16-30, 2026!
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR ALL POLICE OFFICER APPLICANTS:

- At least 21 years of age (maximum age at time of application is 40)
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving history that meets the criteria for insurability established by Sylvania Township
- Must have at least 64 semester (96 quarter) hours of college credit at an accredited college or university by date of hire
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, nights, overtime, weekends, and holidays
- Nicotine & marijuana free: pertaining to all tobacco, nicotine, and marijuana products
- No OPOTA/OPOTC peace officer certification required
*There is no physical fitness test required for either entry-level or lateral transfer candidates.
STEPS TO APPLY:

Also, it explains, based on your qualifications, whether you need to take the National Testing Network exam in addition to submitting the Police Officer Application.
- Complete and submit the Police Officer Application, which can be downloaded HERE (click link). The Police Officer Application is required of ALL applicants, regardless of Entry-Level Applicants or Lateral Transfer Applicants.
- Submit your National Testing Network test scores through the NTN portal, if you do NOT qualify as a Lateral Transfer Applicant.
- Police Officer Applications and NTN test scores (if applicable) must be submitted before the end of the day on March 30, 2026.
